Island Escapes Managing Director John Keggin receiving a thank you plaque from MWT Engagement Manager, Graham Makepeace-Warne.

In 2018, local holiday lettings agency, Island Escapes, started a partnership with wildlife charity, Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT), and the relationship is showing real benefits for local wildlife. Each time a customer books holiday accommodation through www.islandescapes.im they have the option to donate £3 which goes directly to MWT to support their work protecting Manx wildlife for the future. In 2021 the amount donated was rounded up to £3k by Island Escapes. MWT have now marked their gratitude by awarding Island Escapes with a special plaque to say thank you.

Over the last 3 years, the funds raised by Island Escapes have been used by MWT to support the management of nature reserves, improve educational signage for visitors and maintain access and pathways. The synergy is obvious, as more and more people are choosing to take staycations and enjoy the amazing wildlife and beautiful natural environment that the Isle of Man has to offer. Both Island Escapes and MWT believe there is a strong future for ecotourism and sustainable tourism in Island.

We are hugely grateful for all the financial support we get from our wonderful Island businesses but the relationship with Island Escapes is a special one. We both believe there is a strong and positive future for ecotourism and sustainable holidays in the Isle of Man and we can work together to make it a reality for the benefit of all.
