Close Sartfield will be closed to the public on Tuesday 13th October and Thursday 15th October.
February will see the resumption of coppicing at Close Sartfield. The cut material (willow and birch) has a variety of uses and these products will be available for purchase.

We are pleased to report that we have re-established the butterfly transects at our Close Sartfield reserve. These were started in 1993 by John Lamb and continued until 2014!
This small nature reserve features species rich grassland passing into peat bog with a variety of plant species including orchids.
This nature reserve is a mosaic of grassland, curragh and open meadow producing a diversity of species, where butterflies, beetles and spiders abound.
