Single use plastics are commonplace in today's world however the impact they have on the environment and animals can be devastating. 

You can reduce your single use plastics easily...

10 ways to reduce your single use plastic:
 

  1. Single use: Water bottle
    Plastic free alternative: Reusable bottles that you can refill and reuse 
     
  2. Single use: Food storage containers and bags 
    Plastic free alternatives
    : Use silicone bags, metal or glass containers.
     
  3. Single use: Milk bottles
    Plastic free alternatives: Buy milk in glass containers or swap to the plant based tetrapack
     
  4. Single use: Disposable feminine products. 
    Plastic free alternatives: Menstrual cup or reusable cloth sanitary napkins or underwear.
     
  5. Single use: Plastic bags 
    Plastic free alternatives: Bring your own bag or grocery net to the store. Let vegetables be loose in your shopping trolley instead of using a plastic bag to keep them together.
     
  6. Single use: Coffee cups and drinks containers.
    Plastic free alternatives: Dine in or takeaway in stainless steel or glass reusable cups. If you are buying a takeaway coffee and can’t use your reusable cup, say no to the lid.
     
  7. Single use: Plastic cutlery and straws. 
    Plastic free alternatives: Dine where there is reusable cutlery and/or bring your own reusable straw in glass, stainless steel, bamboo, or silicone. When possible, choose to go straw-free!

    Plastic free alternatives: Shampoo and conditioner bars are a solid form of soap, just add water and rub in your hair and you have a plastic free shampoo
     
  10. Single use: Plastic toothpicks and floss
    Plastic free alternatives: Bamboo tooth floss and natural fibre tooth picks.
