Darren to run the Sydney marathon to raise money for MWT
Darren Lewin, 46, is competing in the Sydney marathon to raise money for Manx Wildlife Trust. He moved to the Isle of Man in January 2023 after spending 3 years in Gurnesy between 2000-2003 and something loving Island life.
Darren said ' [What] I love most about island life is the community spirit that exists on islands and supporting great causes like Manx wildlife trust is something that is very important to me. I think the work that Manx wildlife trust has done since 2 ladies wrote to the examiner in 1973 with the idea of setting up the charity is awesome and I love what the staff and volunteers do for the charity.'
Over the last 20 years Darren has done a number of fundraisers for a range of charities including cycling from lands end to John o groats solo in 13 days and running marathons including London, Chicago, Barcelona, las Vegas and Manchester.
His next challenge is to run the Sydney marathon for 3 charities, Manx Wildlife Trust a Sydney based Ugandan charity, Love Mercy Foundation, and Isle Listen.
Darren is hoping to raise £5026 for MWT symbolising 50 years of MWT and running 26 miles in the marathon.
