Living Landscapes

  • We have completed the purchase of Crossags Coppice, near Ramsey, thanks to funding from the Society for the Protection of the Manx Countryside and Environment.

  • It’s a win-win to fund wildlife friendly farming – for farmers, wildlife and climate change. It is a great time to show Manx wildlife organisations working together, and it is together we want to highlight how important nature friendly farming will be to future generations on the Isle of Man.

  • It’s important to have your say on proposed changes to our planning system. Some of the changes will remove public involvement in planning, some may make take decisions behind closed doors, and some can help bring investment to local areas feeling the impact of developments. It’s important to have your say, and it’s simple to submit your views online.

  • Two members of the MWT team were today called to a seal pup hauled up on Fenella Beach in Peel. Fortunately, the pup was fine and patiently waiting for mum to return. However, many people do not realise that just by being too close to 'get a good look' they are endangering the seal pup. If it becomes stressed by people nearby it will attempt to return to the water where it could get hurt in the stormy sea.

  • Our Visitor Centres are opening again for summer! Find out where and what there is to see.
